Use a tasty, not-bland bread. I usually use a whole grain or seeded bread, something hearty. Gluten-free bread should work fine.An avocado is ripe if it has a little give when you press it near the stem. Only use ripe avocados. Fresh lemon juice is best, but bottled lemon juice should be okay in a pinch.
